I was leaving the house yesterday when I saw my neighbor's new puppy, a miniature dachshund, running in my snowy yard. Her name is Lucy and she's about 4 months old. Behind her, intent on capturing the little runaway, was my neighbor's grandson. He had a look of desperation in his eyes and was carrying a pair of socks. The kid was barefoot! Lucy didn't have a collar on, making the sleek pup hard to catch. I helped the barefoot boy chase her into the garage. She was unrepentant, cheery, and quite pleased with herself. What a kid! He was willing to risk frost bitten feet to capture grama and grampa's puppy.
