I really love to see all these 'family team' author combinations.  Especially when the duo (or more) are from different generations, I feel that could have a positive (or is that 'pawsitive' - sorry, I couldn't resist) effect on the story by bringing a wide range of experience to the table.

Does Mae have issues with her parents for giving her that particular first name when the family name is December?  I wonder.  A 'May to December' romance (sizeable age difference between the couple) is what it brings to my mind.

But Mae's name is the least of her problems in Six Dogs 'Til Sunday.  She's planning her wedding to the sheriff (Ben), tending a pregnant dog and scouting locations for a movie shoot that features the music of her now-deceased former fiance.  That's a lot on one person's plate.

Oh, and there's the little matter of the man shot at the movie location while stealing money from the safe, who drives himself to the hospital and later dies.  I had to drive myself to the hospital once after I broke an arm, but cannot imagine doing it after having been shot.  I'd be like, "Hello 911?  Can you heart me now?!?!?!"  Oh, and the sheriff previous to Ben owns the house that is the crime scene/movie site, and the victim may have had a CI situation going on with the ex-lawman.

Lots of old feelings and situations pop up in this book.  If you do something that could come back to haunt you, it probably will.  There's a reason some secrets are long-buried; somebody wants them to stay that way - permanently.

Six Dogs grabbed me from the prologue.  A character (unspecified really as to who it was) sees someone and the adage 'looks like he's seen a ghost' applies.  It's like the recap of the last season's cliffhanger ending for your favorite tv show.  It's the 'on your marks, get set..." before the 'go'.  It's also the point where your heart starts beating a little faster in anticipation.  And the text excellently fulfills the prologue's promise.

So, I've got me some tales from Tennessee to catch up on (Six Dogs is the sixth in a series) before I hopefully get to find out if there are any future little sheriffs in the Bradley family.  This book read well as a standalone, but I so enjoyed the characters,  that I want to know them better!
